I watched my first R21 show today. Hmm, for the sake of Mr Wong Kar Wai. Let's talk about films. It's called Eros, 3 short stories about sex and pleasure and desire I would say, by 3 visionary established directors.
Firstly, it's The Hand. I like the set. I watched it for this segment actually. Very him. The choice of sounds and film and wardrobe. I like Zhang Zhen's suit with this satin tie. Sorry, I'm a sucker for minor details. I like Christopher Doyle's style of old photo albums. Haha. Hmm, it's like though you're viewing it for the first time, yet you feel quite a bit for simply the surroundings. Simple poignant story of the crush of a tailor on his customer, a beautiful prostitute. It's dull melancholy.
The second story is Equilibrium. Thought-provoking I have to say. Fantasies and reality. How far is it apart? The colour is beautiful for the dream. It's about a dude's dream about this lady, almost like a wet dream but it's just her like putting on make up, dressing up. I shan't be a spoiler and tell ya the story lah. Like a paper plane, sometimes it just doesn't land where you intend it to. But keep in mind of surprises. I quite like this segment. Cheers.
The third one is called Thread...can't remember. I agree with my sis, it's the weakest of the three. I didn't want to admit with the thought that I might just be shallow. Hahaha. As visionary directors right, the colours are really nice lah. Hahaha, it's properly adjusted so it's cool. To me, this segment is just about desire and dancing naked not-really-beautiful ladies. I don't really get it though. Desires, not exactly expressed too. I don't know. Hahaha.
Headache. Very bad. Dying.
