It's a calm Sunday today, just listening to band stuff. Thinking a lil on what me and timothy talked about yesterday. He's such a kan chiong spider. It's so true about him on what Mr Glosz said, what SASMB needs is to beat themselves. Somehow to me it's not so much about playing good music. I believe that I'm in no position to judge how great the music is. Ultimately I want to enjoy what I am playing. Think about it, SAJC band is made of my buddies, each one of them I have so much to say. And I'm given an opportunity, in fact many opportunities, to play together, with all my friends. How cool is that? Up to a certain level, it's no longer about getting better, it's more of the joy and fun factor. I just heard the original studio recording of The Merry Widow, I'm imagining how proud of Amy I can be when her piccolo sound leads the tune at last few figures. Haha. But it's a pity though, we're still not there yet. Not bad as most would say, but not great. It's sad that we can only attain to that level for that short while. We didn't get to perform at the high standard during festiva. Yesterday before I enter the band room, the band sounded good actually. I know it's there, still a lil raw but yeah, it's cool. It's a very proud feeling to be part of SAJC band. 2 years back I was in Esplanade hoping to be part of this band. They were just so cool. So surreal, that I'm entering SYF this year as part of SAJCBand. Noise! Hahaha. Wow, been a while since I used that ancient exclamation. Hahaha, NOISE! Nobody understands how proud I am of the band already. Hahaha. It's cool to have all of you kids to be my batchies!
