Hi beautiful world

Exciting time of the year, 31 colourful years of the Singapore Arts Festival and yes it's time of the year again. Haven't read much about it but 3 shows caught my eyes. The most exciting gotta be Radio and Juliet. No, it's nothing lame. It's superme's favourite band, Radiohead as the soundtrack of this modern take in Shakespeare's class-act, Romeo and Juliet. Yes I know I had and still have a lot to say about Shakespeare but R+J is still yours truly's favourite. So that's 1st with Radio & Juliet (Asian Premiere) by Slovene National Theatre Maribor. Sorry there's no built up suspense from 3rd to 1st cos I'm typing according to my excitement level! So it's naturally 1st first!!! Hahaha. Next up, second goes to The Lord of the Rings Symphony: Six Movements for Orchestra, Chorus and Soloists by Singapore Festival Orchestra/ Chorus of the Slovene National Theatres Maribor and Ljubljana/
Singapore Lyric Opera Children's Choir. Slovene seemed so cool to me all of a sudden. Okay superme's inner geek is a huge fan of LOTR, she had read the book at least 6 times, watching the shows sadly not as many times because money constrains I do no own the last of the trilogy, I hate to watch shows without preparing the endings. I have the soundtracks on endless loop last time till my comp crashed and now I'm just left with 2 pieces. So yup, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS CONCERT! Yesyesyes! 3rd is to fulfil the visual media artist inside me from the land of the rising sun, no direction by Nibroll (Japan). It is a piece on social convention and a common fatigue, miscommunication. It is an interdisciplinary piece of work with all elements on the same footing translating the same message. It will be interesting.

Tell me more if you know more! Waiting to hear!

Anyhow onto the Brits. I love brit rock if you don't already know. So yes they invented alternative rock if you'll like to argue, alright at least they made it famous. OKAY that's not something I wanna talk about. Two huge bands from the land that I love do no like the way the industry functions and made our lives interesting with the message they're passing on. They hate the media the money that is goes no where but the capitalist labels. Making music is for the mass, not for the elite. Spreading music to the widest audience possible is what every musician wants. I mean cmon, mp3s with a price? That sucks doesn't it? Piracy works to a certain extent because it allows music to be passed on. It is not stealing music, it's call sharing. It is publicity for the artistes free of charge. If you want people to buy your albums, work for it. If it suck, I'm sorry, at least piracy tried to help. So anyhow, the alternative music distribution comes along, most recently being lead by macca, one of superme's heroes of all-time. And yes, the inner hippie-wannabe speaks, I love The Beatles. So macca was upset with the industry so he decided to distribute his album free with the newspaper. A very exciting and very hippie way of doing things don't you think? Do not think he needs more fans or more money or more publicity, he's PAUL MCCARTNEY, he has enough, more than enough. And not to forget all-time favourite Radiohead who allows fans to pay any amount for their new album. Oh how sweet. Any price is enough and any price you think their music's worth. Talk about UK being exciting. People in the UK are fortunate, really.
